Hi, My name Tyler and I am 16 years old. I am allergic to eggs, dairy, beef and peanuts. My family started doing food allergy walks when I was 3 years old, when FARE was known as FAAN. We walked each year and the event was always very important to me. I think it is really important to raise awareness and funds for people with food allergies because many people like myself have really struggled due to our allergies. I have a very hard time finding safe food at restaurants, I have been bullied in school because of my allergies and they have caused me a lot of anxiety.  I would like to do whatever I can to help prevent these things from happening to other people. I am currently doing Oral Immune Therapy for peanuts and I know that something like this would not be an option if funds for research were not raised. These are the reasons my family is organizing this Hometown Heroes Walk. 

I hope that you will join us this year to walk and raise money for FARE. There will be some lawn games set up, get the chance to talk to other people that are going through similar experiences, and we will walk about 1 1/2 miles. There will be a prize for the top fundraising team. Next year I hope to make the walk an even bigger event, so I will have sign ups to join our walk committee! Thank you!!!
